A tandem skydive in Dubai combines the rush of freefall with extraordinary aerial views. Securely connected to a qualified tandem instructor, you board the aircraft, climb towards jump altitude and exit into open air before the parachute opens for a gentler descent back to the dropzone.
At the Palm Dropzone, the view can include Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, the Arabian Gulf and the city's coastline. At the Desert Campus, the landscape changes to open dunes and desert patterns. These are different locations, experiences and booking calendars, so the selected dropzone must be checked before payment.

Both the weight and BMI limit must be satisfied. Being under the maximum weight does not make a participant eligible when the BMI is above the published limit. Measure honestly before booking and leave a sensible margin for clothing and shoes.
A tandem skydive is designed for a first-time participant who does not hold a skydiving licence. You wear a harness connected to a trained tandem instructor. The instructor manages the aircraft exit, body position, parachute deployment, canopy flight and landing procedure while you follow simple instructions.
The aircraft can climb to a drop height of up to approximately 13,000 feet. During freefall, the average speed is around 200 kilometres per hour, although body position and other factors can affect it. Once the main parachute opens, the experience becomes slower and the view becomes easier to absorb.
A tandem booking is not a solo jump and does not teach you to skydive independently. Accelerated Freefall courses and licensed-skydiver services are separate products with different training, documentation and experience requirements.
If you prefer an aerial view without leaving the aircraft, consider a Dubai helicopter tour. It offers a sightseeing flight rather than freefall and follows completely different participation rules.
The jump is short compared with the complete visit, but the build-up is part of the experience. Registration, briefing, harnessing, aircraft boarding, the climb, freefall, canopy descent and landing each create a different kind of excitement.
The Palm Dropzone is the famous coastal option near Dubai Marina. From the aircraft and during the jump, suitable visibility may reveal Palm Jumeirah's fronds and crescent, the Marina skyline, Bluewaters, the coastline and the Arabian Gulf.
Book the Palm option when the iconic city-and-island view is central to your decision. Visibility, flight path and exact scenery depend on weather, air-traffic and operational conditions, so no individual landmark or camera angle can be guaranteed.
The Palm Dropzone is on Al Seyahi Street in the Dubai Marina area. It is not located on Palm Jumeirah itself. Use the location on your final confirmation rather than searching only for “Palm Jumeirah” in a navigation app.
The Desert Campus provides a different visual experience above Dubai's sandy landscape. It can suit guests who care more about the sensation of skydiving than the Palm Jumeirah view, or whose preferred Palm date is unavailable.
The Desert Campus is outside the central tourist districts and requires a longer road journey from many hotels. Confirm its current operating calendar, exact map point and transport before booking. Do not arrive at the Palm Dropzone with a Desert Campus ticket or vice versa.
Choose Palm for the landmark coastal setting and Desert for open dune scenery. The jump process and eligibility rules are broadly similar, but prices, media options, operating days and availability can differ. The best choice is the one matching the view you want, your budget and the live calendar for your travel dates.
Package titles can appear similar. Before payment, confirm the dropzone, date, arrival time, media inclusions and any selected add-on in writing.
This option includes the tandem jump and the operator's listed standard essentials, which currently include medical insurance, but it does not include the professional photo and video package. It can suit a guest who wants the experience at the lowest available package price and does not need a recorded memory.
Participants cannot carry a phone, action camera or personal recording device during a tandem jump. Choosing the no-media package therefore means you should not expect personal freefall footage.
This is the most popular package for first-time visitors. A separate camera flyer generally records the aircraft preparation, exit, freefall and landing sequence, while still photographs capture key moments. The standard edited media is normally sent digitally after the experience.
The operator currently advises allowing up to 48 hours for standard photos and video to arrive by email. Check the contact address carefully at registration and review the spam folder before reporting that the media is missing.
A short vertical or social-media-style edit may be available as a paid addition to the standard media package. It is intended for easy sharing and does not replace the main edited video. Under the current policy, this add-on cannot be purchased without the standard photo and video package.
The selfie-view option uses an additional wrist-mounted camera operated by the tandem instructor. It creates a closer viewpoint to complement the outside camera flyer's wide shots. It is an add-on, not a substitute for following the operator's safety and equipment rules.
A gift voucher can be an exciting present, but the recipient must satisfy every eligibility condition and use it within the published validity. Never surprise someone with a paid skydive without checking their age, weight, BMI, health, availability and willingness to jump.
Transport is included only when the chosen Friends Guide package explicitly states a pickup and drop-off service. Standard Skydive Dubai admission does not automatically include hotel transfers. Confirm the hotel area, pickup point, waiting time and whether the vehicle is shared or private.
The time on the tandem booking is your required arrival time, not the exact moment of the jump. Present your valid government-issued photo ID, booking confirmation and any compulsory medical document. Staff review the waiver and personal information before the experience proceeds.
You will be weighed in the clothes and shoes worn for the skydive. Staff can refuse participation when the weight, BMI, age, identification, health documentation or other conditions are not satisfied. Arguments at the counter cannot override an operational safety rule.
Your tandem instructor explains the correct body position for the aircraft exit, freefall and landing. Listen carefully even if you have watched skydiving videos before. The instructions are deliberately simple, but following them at the right moment is essential.
Staff fit and check the tandem harness. If media is included, the camera flyer may record a short introduction and ask how you feel before boarding. Remove prohibited loose objects and follow every equipment instruction.
You board with your instructor and other jumpers. During the climb, remain seated or positioned as directed. This stage builds anticipation and may provide the first wide view of the coast or desert.
At the correct altitude and with clearance to proceed, the instructor moves towards the exit while you maintain the practised position. Freefall is fast, loud and intensely physical. Focus on your breathing, keep the instructed posture and look towards the camera when prompted.
After parachute deployment, speed reduces and conversation may become possible. The instructor controls the canopy and prepares the approach. Some participants are invited to hold steering toggles briefly, but only when and how the instructor permits.
As the ground approaches, lift your legs exactly as instructed and allow the tandem instructor to manage the landing. Do not attempt to stand early. After stopping, wait for the harness and parachute to be handled safely.
Confirm the email address and delivery process before leaving. Standard media may not be immediate. Technical or weather-related issues can occasionally affect image quality, and the final terms govern any remedy.
Plan to spend approximately three to four hours from registration until completion. The actual jump is only one part of that period. Check-in, documentation, weather assessment, equipment preparation, aircraft sequencing and media processing all take time.
Do not schedule a fixed airport transfer, non-refundable meal or another ticket immediately afterwards. Operations may move to standby when winds, visibility, cloud or other factors become unsuitable, and the waiting period cannot be predicted accurately.
Skydiving depends on safe weather at ground level and at altitude. A clear-looking sky from your hotel does not prove that conditions are suitable at the dropzone. Wind direction, wind speed, visibility, cloud, rain and upper-air conditions can delay or suspend jumping.

Book the skydive in the first half of your Dubai holiday whenever possible. If weather forces a reschedule, you then have more opportunity to move to another available date. The operator's current terms determine whether an operational cancellation qualifies for rescheduling or a refund.
Tandem participants must be at least 18 and no older than 75 on the jump date. A person aged 17 years and 364 days cannot participate, even with parental consent. Ages are calculated using the Gregorian calendar.
Women must currently weigh 90 kilograms or less and have a BMI of 27.5 or less. Men must currently weigh 100 kilograms or less and have a BMI of 30.0 or less. Both conditions apply at the same time.
BMI is calculated from weight and height. Home scales and online calculations are useful for planning but do not replace the official check-in measurement. Shoes, clothing, meals, hydration and scale variation can affect the result, so booking exactly on the limit creates a real risk of refusal.
These limits support safe harness fit, aircraft procedures, parachute performance and landing. Friends Guide cannot waive them, and the dropzone team cannot accept a participant simply because the ticket has already been paid.
Skydiving is physically demanding and includes harness pressure, rapid acceleration, high wind, altitude, freefall and landing forces. Anyone uncertain about their health should consult a qualified doctor before booking.
The official operator requires a doctor-completed, signed and stamped Declaration of Fitness for participants aged 70–75 and for guests with relevant past or present medical conditions. Published examples include:

Guests with a prosthetic limb or who use a wheelchair must contact the reservations team before booking so the operator can assess the individual situation. Accommodation is not always possible because tandem skydiving has strict physical and equipment requirements.

The selfie-view add-on captures a closer angle from a camera attached to the instructor's wrist. A social-media edit provides a shorter shareable version. Both are additions to the standard media package under the current product rules.

If a Friends Guide package includes transport, the confirmation will show the pickup terms. Be ready before the stated time and keep your phone reachable. Transfer delays caused by a guest can jeopardise a fixed check-in.
Skydiving policies are strict because aircraft, instructors and equipment are reserved for each operating day. The operator currently allows a customer to manage a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival, subject to the published terms. Changes inside that period can attract a penalty equal to the jump cost.
Failure to meet age, weight, BMI, medical-document, alcohol, drug or scuba-diving rules is generally not treated as an operational cancellation. Refunds should not be expected when the participant is refused for an eligibility failure.
If the operator cancels because weather or another operational condition remains unsuitable, the current terms may provide rescheduling or a refund. Related hotel, transport, flight and itinerary costs are not normally the dropzone's responsibility.
Keep the rest of the skydiving day flexible. A light evening plan is safer than another fixed high-value ticket. If operations finish early and you still want an adventure, XLine Dubai Marina offers a different high-speed experience, but book it on another date unless there is a large, realistic buffer.
Avoid exhausting activities or late-night plans before an early skydive. An evening desert safari is better scheduled after the jump day so dune driving, a late return and any camp dining do not affect morning fitness or punctuality.
Water activities also need careful timing. A Jumeirah jet ski ride does not have the same altitude issue as scuba diving, but it can still be physically demanding. Leave recovery time and avoid injury immediately before the skydive.
Visitors who want a calmer high-level view can add Burj Khalifa At the Top on another day. It provides an observation-deck perspective of Dubai without the eligibility rules or weather dependence of a tandem jump.
