Since 1 January 2025, foreign nationals who are physically present in the UAE and require a visa to enter Thailand must apply through the official Thailand eVisa platform. Visa applications are no longer submitted personally at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai.

A standard single-entry Thailand tourist visa is generally valid for travel within three months from its date of issue and may permit a stay of up to 60 days. The exact validity, permitted stay and conditions stated on the approved eVisa must be followed.
The Royal Thai Embassy currently advises that eVisa processing may take approximately 3 to 10 working days, excluding the date of submission and payment. Our portal displays an agency estimate of seven working days, but additional document requests, public holidays, verification or incorrect information may increase the total processing time.
UAE citizens holding valid ordinary Emirati passports currently qualify for visa-exempt entry for tourism and eligible short business visits of up to 60 days. UAE residence status alone does not provide the same exemption to foreign residents; requirements depend on the traveller’s passport nationality.
All non-Thai travellers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before arrival. The TDAC can be submitted free of charge during the three days before the travel date. It is an arrival registration and does not replace a visa when a visa is required.
Visa approval, validity, permitted stay and admission into Thailand are decided exclusively by the Thai authorities. An approved eVisa allows the traveller to request entry but does not guarantee admission.
