Friends Guide Travel & Tourism helps UAE residents prepare a Thailand tourist eVisa file. The visa route depends on the passport used for travel. UAE residence does not give every passport the same entry right.
Thailand now uses an online eVisa service for visa applicants who are in the UAE. The applicant must create an account on the official Thai eVisa website. The applicant must check each answer and pay the government fee through the official service.
Our team can first review the trip and the traveller's basic details. We can then give a clear file list. We can check the form, passport copy, photo, UAE residence proof, flight plan and hotel booking. The Thai embassy may ask for more files or an interview.
The passport should be valid for at least six months from the planned entry date. UAE applicants may also need a valid residence visa or Emirates ID. Round-trip flight proof and a hotel booking or host letter may be needed. Each visa type has its own rules.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi says an eVisa may take 3 to 10 working days. The day of payment and the day the file is sent are not part of that time. Public holidays or a request for more proof can make the wait longer. There is no express service.
After approval, the traveller should download the eVisa, print a copy and save a copy on a phone. The traveller should carry the passport, visa, return ticket and stay details. The visa itself shows the allowed trip dates and length of stay.
Thailand also asks non-Thai travellers to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before arrival. This card is an arrival form, not a visa. A person who needs a visa must still hold the right visa.
Approval is not promised. A Thai eVisa does not promise entry at the border. Thai officers make the final choice. Rules may change, so check the official Thai embassy and eVisa pages before travel.

What is a Thailand tourist eVisa?
A Thailand tourist eVisa is an electronic visa for eligible visa-required travellers visiting Thailand temporarily for tourism, holidays, sightseeing, family visits or another permitted short-term purpose. The application and visa decision are handled online.
Can UAE residents apply for a Thailand tourist visa from Dubai?
Yes. Foreign nationals who are physically present and legally residing in the UAE may apply through the official Thailand eVisa platform when their passport nationality requires a visa. Applicants must provide valid evidence of their UAE residence or current location.
Do UAE citizens need a visa to visit Thailand?
UAE citizens holding valid ordinary Emirati passports currently qualify for visa-exempt entry for tourism and eligible short business visits of up to 60 days. UAE passport holders without nationality must obtain the appropriate visa before travelling.
Does every UAE resident qualify for visa-free entry to Thailand?
No. UAE residence status alone does not provide visa-free entry. The requirement depends mainly on the traveller’s passport nationality. Some nationalities qualify for visa exemption or visa on arrival, while others must obtain an eVisa before travelling.
Is the Thailand tourist visa issued electronically?
Yes. Visa-required UAE residents now apply online through the official Thailand eVisa platform. After approval, the eVisa confirmation is sent electronically and should be carried with the passport used for the application.
Do I need to visit the Thai Embassy or Consulate to submit my visa application?
No. Thailand visa applications from UAE residents are no longer accepted personally at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai. The application, supporting documents and payment must be completed online through the official eVisa portal.
What documents are commonly required for a Thailand tourist eVisa?
Common documents include a passport valid for at least six months from the intended entry date, a recent passport photograph, valid UAE residence visa or Emirates ID, confirmed round-trip flight tickets and proof of accommodation in Thailand. Additional documents may be requested according to the applicant’s profile.
How long is a Thailand single-entry tourist visa valid?
A standard single-entry Thailand tourist visa is generally valid for travel within three months from its date of issue. The traveller must enter Thailand before the visa expires and comply with the conditions stated on the approved eVisa.
How long can I stay in Thailand with a tourist visa?
A single-entry tourist visa may normally allow a stay of up to 60 days. The final permitted stay is determined by Thai immigration authorities and must be checked on the entry stamp and approved visa conditions.
How long does a Thailand tourist eVisa take from Dubai?
Our portal provides an agency estimate of seven working days. The Royal Thai Embassy currently advises that eVisa processing may take approximately 3 to 10 working days, excluding the submission and payment date. Additional documents, verification or public holidays may cause delays.
Do I need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?
Yes. All non-Thai travellers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before arrival. It can be submitted free of charge within the three days before the travel date. The TDAC is an arrival registration and does not replace a required visa.
Does an approved Thailand eVisa guarantee entry?
No. An approved eVisa allows the traveller to travel to Thailand and request admission, but it does not guarantee entry. Thai immigration authorities may review the passport, visa, accommodation, return travel, financial arrangements and purpose of the visit.
